Vintage Antique French Provencial Painted Panel Floor Screen Room Divider Horse Scene Scene Ladies Outside Woods

Description

Wow this floor screen is such a rare and unique decorator’s find. The warm golden tone colors make available a sophisticated air. I’ve used this as both a room divider and back ground panel for atmosphere. It’s a great conversational piece. Now this is not in new, mint condition. It resembles a treasure you would stumble upon in an ancient castle. So there are several scratches, scuffs, scrapes, dings and places where the painting detail has worn off. Noteworthy for character is the far right end panel. Here you will find a slight bend in the scene and possibly what you would call a dribble in the painting. Somehow, as time went on, something liquid was on the screen. The back of the screen is in one solid color, black. Also, there are a few “keep me attached to the wall wires” on the back of the screen. It's beautifully divided into four seperate panels.

I very much would like a history, any information and price value. Thank you!

Purchased this from a collector. Was told it was an antique french wood painted floor screen or room divider. We have enjoyed this so much, but now changing things around. Re: Vintage Antique French Provencial Painted Panel Floor...

Some things really need a physical appraisal to determine the age of these pieces, as this style has been revived several times since the mid 1700's. The style has seen at least three revivals since the late 19th Century, the 1890's, 1930's, 1960's and 1990's. Many like this one date to the 1930's.
