I have the same book from the later, 1951, printing. It has the cloth over cardboard cover. From online searches of places such as Alibris bookstore, antiqbook.com, WorthPoint, and eBay, mine is worth around $10.
Since it appears my later printing may be in a bit better overall condition than your first printing, I would estimate yours to be worth a similar amount.
