Description
A Henry Matier cambric linen handkerchief box with two handkerchiefs from 1867. Front shows a angel and medals the company won. The inside has two womens portraits on each side. A purple string allows you to open the space which contains a handkerchief in each one. Supposed to have 1 dozen mens handkerchiefs as on box. Back has a stamp "registered for great britain, 12th september 1867. Letters patent granted for United States 9th June 1868. "Superior quality linen cambric HKFs ready for use 5/8 wide and "No. 44" written in pencil.

Heres one on ebay. I dont think those are the original handkerchiefs. There would have been more and not florals.

thanks Kathy. i did see some of those links too, but that seems to be a small few being sold. yeah the handkerchiefs do seem too be flowery to be a man's, but they are very delicate. the differences in prices has thrown me off.

Yeah that one place wanted a lot for it. I guess thats retail :) I normally go by Ebay prices seems thats where most items are found.
