1899 Meriden Silver Plated Teapot

By StarErica, 1 January, 2013
Description

Silver plated Meriden B teapot with lion on top. Marked with scales and 1899.  Very fancy with designs of fighting and lovers around top.  Tail on lion is shorter then it should be due to be broken. Very nice piece.  Also bought two other pieces that one may be creamer server that goes with this one although it is dated 1887 so maybe not?

Its black. Have you tried cleaning it to see if there is any silver left?

Re: 1899 Meriden Silver Plated Teapot

Values for silver plated items depends a great deal on the condition of the silver. Pieces like this were meant to be polished, any standard household silver polish is safe to use. Polish it up and get back to us with new images and we'll give you are opinion.
