16" Asian Cloth Dolls

By rainbowwillow63, 3 January, 2013
Description

I found a pair of asian dolls. 1 boy and 1 girl. They are 16" tall and are mounted on a 3/4" board at the feet. They appear to be wearing silk clothes. They both have cloth faces as well as bodies. They are also holding hands.

The boy is dressed in pink silk pants and a bright red patterned shirt with oversized silver buttons. On his back he has a sort of backpack that is holding flowers, umbrellas and some sort of stick. His right leg is lifted as if walking.

The girl is dressed in a long red patterned dress with multi-colored sleeves. She also is wearing a short jacket? or coat and white apron over the dress. Her hair is in a single braid that goes to the middle of her back.

Both have course hair that has a stitch in it to hold it in place the way they wanted it to be. They have a type of muslum cloth under the clothes. I can see no stitching on neither of them. Every thing is held in place with straight pins so I know that these were hand made.

I've taken as many pictures that I could to try to show the details. If you could please help me in identifying them I'd be very greatful. If you would aslo like give an appraisal, that to will be appreciated.

Re: 16" Asian Cloth Dolls

Can anyone even help me identify these dolls? I'd really appreciate the help.
