1622 Americae nova Tabula Map

Profile picture for user myelegant1

Description

Looking for information, including value, for an antique map by Willem Bleau.

It is described as a Americae nova Tabula Map of the United states and shows California

detached.  It is unusal from all the other similar maps on the internet as it has a date in the

bottom left emblem of  ( A 1622) and the other maps do not.  Is it more rare and unique?

It is in color and looks to be original.

Re: 1622 Americae nova Tabula Map

This would have to be evaluated by a professional appraiser in person to tell for sure, it looking at the pictures my gut feeling is that the colors are too sharp and bright, and maps from that era are extremely rare, so I would have serious questions about its authenticity ...

I have this same map. Did you find any information?

I can't find any others with 1662 either.

Superking is right, maps really need to be physically examined, early maps have been reproduced for years now. There is no way to tell from images like this what you have.
