Hi,

I recently bought a carousel horse and I'm curious as to where I can find information about its origin and value. It's approximated to be from the 1950s or 1960s.

Re: carousel horse

First off, we'd need to know what it's made of , we've seen these in wood, aluminium and fiberglass. This one looks like the reproductions that started to flood the market during the late 1980's. Post back  what it's made of and I'll have another look.

Re: carousel horse

hello. well i had one of these around 15 to 20 years ago that i bought from a man in upstate new york which he let me buy for 1000,00 that being said did some research before i bought it and the one i bought came from an amusement park in Amsterdam new york which is close to where i live, also notable ones that where done had real metal horse shoes with the makers name on them. The one i had cant remember now the maker but sent pics and info to a carousel auction house in Chicago and christies and estmate was around 4500 at the time. if it doesnt have a horse shoe doesnt mean its not old but they did make alot of reproductions but it would be in the construction details of how it was made and put together.
