Davis Cabinet Appalacian Beech Dining Room Set

Description

I have a dining room set that I believe to be Davis Cabinet Company from Nashville Tennessee.  I would estimate it to be around 40 to 50 years old.  I have a small hutch, large china hutch, server, table, and six chairs.  One chair is in need of an arm repair.  There are two head chairs and four side chairs.  It state it is made of Solid Appalacian Beech Wood in a label that matches the Davis Cabinet label.  On the bottom of one of the chairs is a label from the Davis Cabinet Company.  Overall, it is in very good condition.  There are some use marks on the server, but the other pieces are in very good condition.  There is metal inserts on the large china cabinet doors and the doors of the server.I don't know if I want to sell this or if I want to keep it at this point, but would like a value so I can make a good decision.   The wood is very pretty, and I usually use chalk paint or milk paint to "fluff" up my finds, but I feel that might not be the best way to go with this set.  Thank you so much!

Re: Davis Cabinet Appalacian Beech Dining Room Set

Your set is in the French Provincial style, which is a style which has had revived periods of popularity about every 30 years since the turn of the 19th Century. Currently the style is not in great demand and values for it as well in decline, we often see wholes sets of it at cution goe for less than $500.00.
