Re: Frank Ferrante oil painting

Plein air landscape oil painter, Frank Ferrante, graduated Rutgers University, B.S. Marketing. He began his creative career producing educational programs for industry and spent many years in the advertising industry. He also studied fine art, design and composition at The Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. It was not until later in his career while studying oil painting with John Phillip Osborn at the Ridgewood Art Institute, that he decided to concentrate his oil painting skills to traditional painting techniques based on methods handed down to his teacher’s teacher, the American Impressionist, Frank Vincent DuMond. It was at this time that he devoted all of his efforts learning to capture the prismatic flow from light to shadow, atmosphere, weather and time of day…in his year round outdoor (plein air) oil sessions. These quick oil sketches form the basis for larger studio paintings.

This is all i could find About the painter. I know he is from North New Jersey and still paints. Sorry i could not be of more help. Best of luck.

Re: Frank Ferrante oil painting

Did you find out anything about this painting? I have the same one. I bought it about 20 years ago and it has been in storage for a few years since my wife got tired of it in the house. I thought it was a cool painting so I have held onto it.
