Vintner Brass Wine Bottle Opener

Description

I found this wine bottle opener in a thrift store, and thought it would make a great conversational piece.  It weighs about 8 to 10 lbs. From what I can find out, it is about 40 years old and in good condition. I was wondering about the exact origins and what it is worth.

It is solid brass with the initials CM stamped into one side.  Little Cherubs and vines are stamped on each side.

You are correct, it is a brass cork screw device. Unsure of the age/history but they sell at auction for $50-$125. Not a bad little investment at $5.
