Description
The saucer has large scalloped edges. The top of the petite cup is also cut and folded back into flower petal shapes so the whole cup resembles an opened flower, complete with the sepal around the bottom. The handle looks like a vine to finish the effect. The flowers on this hand painted set look like Violets to me, but I'm not a flower expert. The set is numbered. It is in excellent, like new condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. The bottom is marked "Lefton China, Hand Painted, Made in Japan" with a gold crown emblem, and the saucer is numbered 766. Saucer: 4 7/8 inches wide across ends of "petals"
Cup: 2 inches tall base to lip; 2 3/8 inches tall to top of handle; 3 inches wide at lip; 3 1/3 inches wide including handle.
Re: Rare Unique Flower-Shape Petite Cup, Lefton China Tea Cup...
It's a very pretty cup & saucer, but not very valuable. Lefton china was a mass produced product with most cups and saucers by them sell ing on Ebay for less than $20.00. Here is a link for you all about the company:
