Antique Underwood Noiseless Typewriter

By bst297, 8 April, 2013
Description

I am buying an antique Underwood Noiseless Typewriter.  From the online research that I have done it seems that this is a more rare typewriter as not many of them were produced.  I have not yet picked up the typewriter so I don't have a model number and I am not sure if it is in working order.  I am paying $10 for it.  Anyone know what it could be worth?

Re: Antique Underwood Noiseless Typewriter

Well they are not rare, all of these machines were mass produced. $10.00 is about what they tend to go for at yard sales, I'd suggest checking Ebay to see what they are going for, some websites that specialize in typewriters put crazy values on them.

Re: Antique Underwood Noiseless Typewriter

Thank you for your reply.  I can't seem to find any online that are for sale.  The only one I can find for sale is one that is totally restored on mrtypewriter.com and it is 1495.00.  If it is in working order would it be worth more?  Regardless I still think it is a neat piece and will keep it for my own collection. I can find many Underwood Noiseless portables on ebay, however I can not find any of the desktop versions which is what this model is.
