Description
i would like to appraise two vases i have they are appoximately 50cm in height they are in excellent condition.
the vases are in a very ornate style. with much gold inlay the general colouring used is a pale aqua blue with a number of figures presumably members of a household the colouring and gold inlay is exceptional.each vase has a lid with a gold painted chinese lion sitting on the lid.
Re: josephnemer
It actually appears to be late 19th Century Japanese Satsuma rather than from China. Some Satsuma style wares were made in China, but they'd need a physical examination to determine their true origins.
Re: josephnemer
Hello,
Your urns were produced in Japan during the 1930's and are NOT 19th Century in production. The gold is overlaid NOT inlaid.
They are unfortuneately not signed to the base by the artist, but usually only the better pieces were.
Value lies around the $200/$300 mark for the pair (dependant on condition).
Regards,
Jordan.
