Cedar chests like this tend to date from the mid 1920's, and they were produced in enormous numbers by several companies. This one is red cedar, nearlly all of them were lined with cedar and veneered on the outside in walnut or mahogany. Most sell for less than $250.00 today, even if in good condition.
