I have acquired a dresser that I am unable to locate any information for. The maker is J.L. George, and I was told it is a mahongony wood, but I am not certain of it. There are 3 drawers along the top, and two columns of 3 drawers more, each, with brass handles. The drawers have a dovetail construction. There is a loose marble top, likely added by the purchaser to protect the dresser top. There are two brass tags attached to the back. The first reads:
J.L. George & Co.
Cameron Road, RM. 105, Peninsula
Kowloon Hotel Kowloon
BEAUS ARTS CARVING WOODENWARE DE LUXE FURNITURE INLAID WITH OTHER PRECIOUS METALS REPRODUCTION OF CHINESE ANTIQUE FURNITURE
MADE IN HONG KONG
The second tag is a trademark and reads "The Original J.L. George".
My understanding is the dresser is an antique, but I am unable to locate any other markings or tags that could be indicative of the age. The dimensions are as follows.
33"H x 6O"W x 20"D (marble dimensions .75"H x 61"W x 20.5"D)
Any assistance you are able to provide is greatly appreciated,
Thank you!

Re: J. L. George Nine-Drawer Dresser
Good morning, I am hoping someone may be able to help me identify the approximate age of this dresser and possibly estimate its value. I've been searching for several months now, but have yet to find even another dresser made by J.L. George, though I have seen some beautiful pieces of other furniture by this maker. I am fairly new to the antique world so please forgive me if I make any major (or minor!) blunders!
Kindest regards,
KellyAnn
Re: J. L. George Nine-Drawer Dresser
It's probably not antique, pieces like this are made for the export market and are still in production to this day. We'd retail one like nthis for about $650.00.
