Peice of chinese folk art?

Description

Im not sure exactly what this peice is. its been in my house for 30 years and my mothers as long as she can remember. It is aprox 12 inchese across. 1 in high. one solid peice of wod with art all over it. Seems to be a type of plate or something.

I don't know what it is either or what it says but I do have to say its a beautiful peice..I love asian designs and really just wanted to say how much I love seeing it ^^ Hope you can figure out what it is for and what it says. Good luck to you.
