Harker 1840 Pottery Company Mixing Bowl

By kes60, 9 June, 2013
Description

This bowl was found in the basement and has been there for several decades.  The maker is Harker Pottery Company, founded in East Liverpool, Ohio in 1840.  The piece has the original Harker bow and arrow backstamp on the bottom, as many other pieces do.  However, it does not have any other markings or words, such as "semi porcelain, cameoware or hot oven" that many of the pieces on the internet do.  The pattern is green and blue leaves and some sort of fruit which look to be peaches or apples.  When researching on the internet, I have not been able to find anything with the pattern on it or anything even similar.  It is 12" in diameter and approximately 10" high.  It seems as though it had been a mixing bowl because of its size.  It is in fair condition but I would like to know the value of it.  There is nothing similar on the internet and there are no markings on the piece other than the maker's backstamp to indentify the piece.
