Dressing Table

Description

I am requesting any information that might be learned about a large, ornate dressing table with a beveled mirror for a friend.  It was her greatgrandmother's and she really knows nothing about it.  It has a beautiful beveled mirror still intact and a total of 10 drawers.  She is not sure where to look for markings or from what period it is from.

Well it's probably oak under the black finish and dates from the turn of the 19th Century, as it is it might go at auction for $100.00. A lot of these were originally sold through department stores such as Sears -Roebuck and Montgomery- Ward.
