Chinese carved storage chest

Description

This was in the family for many years, and I believe it was purchased in  Hong Kong about 1940 It is intricately carved on all sides. It is lined with camphor wood by the smell. There is a tray in the top inside of the chest.

Size and dimensions of this item
20 inches wide by 39 inches in length. It stands 23 inches high from the floor with the feet. The feet are 3 inches and the measurement of the chest without the feet is 20 inches.
Date Period
I don't know when it was made.
Weight
I guess about 60 pounds.
History
I need someone to tell me if this was an antique purchased in the 1940's or was it made in the 20th century for consumers.

These are nearly always Chinese, comparable  pieces are still in production. Most like this one postdate the 1930's
