Antique Dresser

By Ktmag, 11 December, 2013
Description

Antique dresser- I can not find any markings, dates, names or labels. It has two drawers and looks like pics I have seen of French commode, Louis XV, Bombay or Bombe? Although I have never seen one with this same Chinese (maybe) emblem! It does NOT have a top. I have no idea where it came from as it was given as a gift to my family years ago. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Re: Antique Dresser

It's in the form of a 18th century Louis XV Bombe chest, but these have seldom been out of production for very long, they come and go out of fashion about every 30 years it seems. This one originally had a marble top. To determine the vintage of yours would require a physical examination. Generally at auction the better copies with their marbe tops often go at auction in the $800-$1500.00 range.
