Early Kentucky Sugar Chest

Description

I have an early Kentucky Sugar Chest from Bath County.  Looking for an approximate value for insurance purposes.  I believe it is cherry but would also like to know if anyone can identify the secondary wood?  Thank youl

Size and dimensions of this item It is a small one which is why I believe it to be early. It was given to me as a gift by a relative. Was told it was from Bath Co. KY.

Hard to tell from the images, but secondary woods tend to be pine or poplar/basswood on a lot of these pieces. This one dates 1820 or so, at auction they go for about $1500.00 and up to about $3500.00.
