The Family Bible, 1861, American Tract Society, was passed down within my family as well. Just began search on it to catalog for insurance purposes.

Distinguishing Marks:
Marginal references were from the English Polyglot Bible. Massachusetts Clergyman and social reformer (he was active in the Temperance and Sabbath Movements as well as the American Tract Society) Rev. Jonathan Edwards (1787-1853) wrote the notes and instructions for the Bible. The marginal Scripture references from the Polyglot Bible were included, as were Thomas Chevalier's "The Harmony and Perfection of the Holy Scriptures."
