Primitive ? Sheffield ? Electro Plate Copper Silver Spoon EPCS

By Merf180, 7 December, 2007
Description

I have these three 4" long spoons. They were acquired in an estate lot some time ago. Their construction seems primitive / simplistic to me - and I am assuming from my research that the EPCS mark is Electro Plated Copper Silver. An "AI" appears to be following the EPCS. I've had them for several years in a basket on my desk holding pens. I'm wondering what they are, when they are from and if they have any value at all to collectors.

These are late 19th century

These are late 19th century American spoons, they originally had wooden or bone handles which have been long since removed. The marking appears to read EPNS to me, which was often used as faux hallmarks in a marketing ploy to imply the pieces were English.  Value wise with their handles gone these are really just interesting conversation pieces now, with very little monetary value.
