Re: Secretary desk from The Cron-Kills Co, Piqua, Ohio

Your desk is in the "Mission style" and dates circa 1910. Values for them depend a great deal on the maker, with those carrying a label being the most sought after. Here's what I have on file:

'Andrew J. Cron (1852-1905) joined R.B. Kills to found Cron Kills Co. in Piqua in 1880. Before that, Cron had worked at another Piqua furniture-manufacturing company, L.C. & W.L. Cron Furniture Co. Cron Kills was still in business in the late 1940s. Mission (Arts & Crafts) furniture, with straight lines and a heavy look, was popular from the early 1900s to the mid-1920s."

Comparable desks generally sell for less than $250.00 at  auction
