Looks old. HELP - Lithography stone must be page # and thats the pic - What book?

I am only replying to show you someone is looking at your post...But out of all the stuff I know about.. I have'nt got a clue what you have. This is going to keep up at night...I will find something I hope..........please post if you find something...

That is & oddity, I have seen a lot of strange thing's. a corner stone comes to mind, but very doubt full.

You must think logically. The number cannot be a page number. As there is no logical reason why someone, with modern paint, would paint a book page number on a stone that size. The size of the stone is too small to be part of a building. Therefor must be from a stone post, or just a stone set on the ground. It is clearly an address marker.

Do you remember where in Michigan it was found? What city or town and was it found at a store or on the ground someplace? Where you found it may help you discover what it is. As for the image being on there. I have no clue why. Only thing I can guess is that, if it is an address marker, that it marked the location of a farm.

The picture clearly shows a man (and possibly a woman) with dark skin wearing clothing reminiscent of the south during the civil war era. Though it is hard to tell much from such a small image.
