Reed and barton vintage tea set pieces

By HannahH, 16 June, 2014
Description

Hi! I have the creamer and sugar bowl to a R&B set that is marked 3612. Under it has smaller lettering saying it was paid June 29.1807. I can't find any pattern names or info. I thought the company started later and can't understand why it's marked 1807. Can anyone help? I've looked at pattern after pattern and nothing matches this. Thanks!!

Re: Reed and barton vintage tea set pieces

The patent mark is probably 1897, not 1807, as the company did not go that far back . The marking dates it to around 1900. There currently is not a lot of demand for silver plate, a lot depends on the condition of the plating, you'll have to polish it up to determine if it's damaged or worn.
