Odd Old Wooden Chest

This old wooden chest was given to me by a friend. It's fairly heavy, and the wood is pretty worn. There are various strange pictures attached to it on the inside and out. There is one attached on the inside on the right that looks like it's affixed to maybe cardboard, and the picture itself has a face with a either a small rock or a shell for a nose. The material looks overall cracked, and it looks like there are leaves underneath as part of the design. The one on the left under the lid looks like a Chinese tiger, and the picture's on a fabric that looks hand painted. The pictures on top of the lid are extremely worn.
