Description

I was unaware of not posting ivory on this site.  I do not know the age of this item, so not sure if it is early enough to list.

This listing has been on for 7 days and still no response.

Site brags - "Appraisals, free within 72 hours"

I'm a little disappointed

This snuff or opium hand carved ivory bottle is in great shape. Could use a little cleaning.  There are Chinese letters on the bottom.

Please help would love to know an estimated amount of its worth.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=Carver+Ivory+snuff+bottle&LH_Sold=…

dj most of the free appraisals come from people like me. I do not claim to be an Expert, but I do spend a lot of time looking up stuff and finding out what they have sold for be it E Bay or any auction sites. This is the first time I have seen your post, and I do come in here almost everyday, sometimes you just need to repost like you did, there are TONS of stuff people want looked at.  I also will post links like above that will show you what I look at, and hope it helps people out. You can pay for the appraisals. Little hint you posted that it had writings on the bottom? but no photo. the marks To ID who and when it was made you need to see the stamp.. FYI me and others do this for free.............Good Luck.

Re: Hand Carver Ivory snuff or opium bottle

Nowhere on InstAppraisal do we claim that free appraisals will be completed within 72 hours.

As explained repeatedly on the site (including on the appraisal request form you filled out to list this item):

How long does it take?

Our free crowd-sourced Standard appraisal relies on one of our global members that may have information about the item seeing the listing and posting a reply. As a result of this it is difficult to predict but can range from just a few hours to substantially longer. Patience is often rewarded at InstAppraisal.

Since some members will require a more timely response we offer two premium services – InstAppraisal Advantage (which requests a response from our own InstAppraisal Experts within 72 hours) and InstAppraisal Ultimate (within 24 hours) for a small fee. If for any reason we are unable to complete the appraisal in the specified time, the fee will be 100% refunded.

You are under no obligation to make use of our premium services.
