JOHN WITTICOMB CO. BURL WOOD SECRETARY DESK WITH GLASS DOOR BOOKCASE

By rracki, 31 July, 2014
Description

RARE FIND! This is in excellent, original condition! Purchased at an auction estate sale in the 1960's and cared for ever since. The glass doors have wooden arrows with a star design that are a golden finish. We are not sure of the age and was hoping the marking on the drawer would lead us to figure that out!

We are looking to sell this item as we have downsized our home. Please advise us of the value. Thanks for your expertise and time!

Re: JOHN WITTICOMB CO. BURL WOOD SECRETARY DESK WITH GLASS...

What you paid is close to what these now sell for at auction, $400.00-$600.00. Demand for cabinets like this last peaked in the 1990's and have been in decline ever since. Currently we'd retail one like this for about $1200.00.
