unknown Cavalry saber

Description

I am seeking the assistance of you, my fellow antiquers. After many hours of searching through image after image of cavalry style sword, I have not discovered a single blade that precisely mirrors this one.  If anyone could lend their assistance and their time, I would be most pleased.

Now, on to the details. The grip is made of wood, and the hand guard, itself, is brass. The sword is appears to be recently polished; however, pitted rust remains on the blade.

Again, any information would be greatly appreciated.
