Description
Gamewell Fire and Telegraph Co. fire alarm box. The masterbox has a small enclosed glass face that in case of fire one would break the glass and access key to open door. Inside the masterbox is another box that has a the lever one would pull down activating the signal to the nearest fire station. Generally these boxes would mount on a wall or pole near a corner on NYC blocks. The clockworks inside are in very good condition and actually do work in terms of the winding. I have restored the two I have back to how they would of looked after a fresh coat of red paint.
