Description Myott Son & Co Gold Trimmed porcelain diner set. Written on back : Myott Son & Co, Hanley, EST 1880, England's Countryside, Made in England and then written in Gold H.W 340. Set includes : 6 bowls, 6 desert plates, 6 salad plates, 5 main course plates (missing one), 6 cups with 6 saucers, 1 big service bowl, 1 very big service platter, 1 creamer, 1 sugar holder, 1 sauce boat with plate. All are GOLD trimed.

Here is a link to an auction for this same pattern the auction is for a service of 12. http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/3165283 starting bid was $150 and estimated at 300-500. You have the service for 6 minus the one main plate so assuming everything is in perfect condition you are looking at around $140-240 at a good auction. Here is replacements.com' link for this set so you can see individual prices for each piece. These are of course retail prices so expect 50-70% less than what they are asking. Note there are different versions of this pattern, with greatly varying valuations. The live auctioneers item above was the more common, and arguably more attractive, and is relatively cheap. Replacements.com lists plates in that style from around $8 in good condition. The style listed by Marc Johnson however is the cruder, bolder version with red cottage walls. This bold red is less common in Myott wares and increases the value considerably. Replacements lists single plates from $25. I would expect an auction price of at least $500 for this set, and for it to retail for over $1000.
