Re: China
Wedgwood used a date code, which on this piece is the "JKO" marking, your piece could have been made in either January 1860 or 1886. I think this piece most likely dates from 1886.
Re: China
1860 wedgwood footed compote centerpiece bowl I'm thinking Queen's Ware. maybe 1860s. I do beleave they are called COMPOTE FOOTED BOWLS..I was looking for your pattern but I will keep looking..Hope this helps a little in your search..
Re: China
My primary focus with antiques is Wedgwood items. This piece would indeed be a footed compote or footed bowl from 1886. We know it's prior to 1891 because in 1891 they began adding "England" on their items. JKO would represent the year 1886, as the items' age was determined by the final letter, in this case O. 1860, 1886, and 1912 were the only years when the O would be used. It's not 1860 because this piece does not have the identifying marks of pieces of that time period, and it cannot be 1912 because as stated, after 1891 they implemented the use of the word "England" on their pieces. Thus, your item is from 1886. The W is the potters mark, the L would be the pattern or the identifying mark for this piece/shape/pattern/design; it can vary. The L won't be very useful in identifying the pattern though, because this was for the potters and workers in the kiln and such, to use. I hope that helps someone, if you have any specific questions, just reply to my posting.
