Red Seal Cedar Chest by Honderich

Description

This piece has been in the family from new it was made for the grandmother from a company called Honderich, we have the original markings on the chest never taken off as you will  see in the photo, there is an original catalog, showing the availible models from Honderich in 1954, 1955. Since there is a marking on the bottom as well as the picture matches we are confident that this is a NO.F7 Swirl Mahogany 44 3/4 " x 19 1/4" -- 27 1/2" High. Serpentine front. Four-way matched up top , one drawer (bottom).  It is cedar lined, and has always resided in a bedroom enivronment main level (not basement) . Honderich Furniture Company Limited resided in Milverton, Ontario Canada.

We retail comparables in the $200.00- $250.00 range, but they tend to sit for quite a while even at that price. Chests like this were made in huge numbers, of which most still survive.

With your valued option, I sold this unit to a nice family, I started my asking price at 200.00 , and settled for 150.00 as it was a christmas time, thanks again for your time.
