Description

I've had it tested by a jeweler and it does test 18k the jeweler suggested I find someone with electronic testing equipment as he didn't want to take any more rubbings and said it had probably flown under the radar for years as costume cause it is so over the top it also has 4 very large baroque pearls the largest one measuring 22mm X17mm and sits 12mm high this piece is in very good condition esp the enamel the piece itself measures around 3 1/2" long and 3" tall weighing at 60g. Once I got it home I did find a old type written letter from a jeweler giving a brief valuation in the the box which lead me to contact the jeweler in Minnesota to even see if they were still in business and they are, I spoke to the owner who said it was prob his grandfather that did the valuation and his father that wrote it up the sheet refers to another paper that came with it and he said he would see if he could find it he did say it looked like letter head they used from the 30's it is suspended from 2 chains that lead to a ring at the top with a small tag that reads  G-R 795

Re: Antique Enameled 18kt dragon with very large Baroque Pearls

What a neat piece! I wish I could give you more information about this, but I really don't have much other than I suspect it was originally intended as an ornament (the décor kind, not the Christmas tree kind) instead of a piece of jewelry. I don't know why, but this piece has stuck in my head for the past several weeks. If you're still interested in parting with it, send me an email and I might be able to make an offer.

All the best,

Rhiannon
