Marble-top Lyre Table

Description

This table has no markings on the base.  The marble top comes off, and it says "made in Italy".  The wood looks to be mahogany that has been antiqued.  I'm wondering if it would decrease the value to refinish it?  Any information on the table would be greatly appreciated!

hello, this is a nice peace. I noticed you where wondering if refinishing this table would decrease the value and I would have to say it probably wouldn't be a good idea to do so. Most of the time when people buy antiques it because they like the antique look. And I have have made that mistake before and reduced the prize unknowingly. It does depend on how bad the damge is as well. I'm not sure of its age but good luck.

This one is a reproduction and not an original American Empire styled piece, it's doubtful it predates the 1960's. Even the originals don't go for much these days, so feel free to do with it what ever you like.
