Re: Hall Tree with beveled mirror and Mail slot/box

Wish I had better news about this item but Pulaski Furniture has been around for a very long time and is what we "in the furniture industry" refer to as low end-entry level furniture. They don't get a lot of credit for their pieces because of that reason. They did mainly reproduction items...and were good at what they did so that the middle class could afford a piece of furniture they would not usually be able to afford. I was raised in that area-they manily do such things as bookshelves and items that are "ready to assemble now'...due to the furniture market here in the US. It's a furiture ghost town. Everything from Hooker, Thomasville, Bassett, Pulaski, etc. have all moved to China.

As far as price...the value is in the purchaser. In an auction it may bring 50-130 so you may want to advertise and sell it locally to avoid sellers premium. You should be able to get anywhere between 150-225...depending on buyer, location, etc.

The good thing is that it is a fairly small piece and the mail slot makes a good conversation piece. It could fit in the smaller homes easily and I'm sure someone out there would love to own it. It may take a while to sell at the higher end...so if your looking to get rid of it quickly then I would advertise in the medium because anyone interested is going to try and negociate.

Hope this helps and doesn't disappoint too much. I see them go through the auctions every week which is why they do not bring a lot of money unless you have a higher end peice from a different company from the turn of the century.
