Description

Bought this dresser in 2004 from an antique shop.  Looking for information regarding this dresser.  I attached the manufacture label on the back of he dresser.

It has wood wheels and from what I can figure out Batson Mansfield was a furniture company but can't find anything on the company but old sales ads

Take a good look at the wheels to make sure they aren't modern and put on to make it seem like it was made before 1930. A lot of people refinish this kind of piece and it looks to me like that is what has been done here. The wheels on an original Crescent would be kind of part of the piece, not something put on as an afterthought. The one thing that concerns me is the stamp. I have a vanity made by them and have seen another piece from them with the same stamp but they have weird staples holding it on and it is always in the top left corner on a piece of solid wood.

 

It looks like it is 1 of 2 things, either a refinish and made to look more modern or its just a dresser someone put wheels and a stamp on to make it look original. Original pieces from Crescent I belive retail between 450-600, so I have seen on here. Mine has been in my family since the 20s and is priceless..
