Re: watercolor painting

History:

Your watercolor paintings appears to be a painting by Ronald Searle. Searle was a British artist who had passed away in 2011 at 91 years old. Searle was mostly famous in the 1950s appearing in magazines and newspapers including the New Yorker, Sunday's Express, News Chronicle, anfd Holdiday and Punch. He has mainly produced artwork for books including the popular Moleworths books and St. Trinian's. Ronald Searle has won numerous awards for his paintings including the National Cartoonists Society's Advertising and Illustration Award in 1959 and 1965. Him signing it with "pg. 243" tells me it is from a book which will increase the value.

Value:

I would seriously recommend getting this item looked at. Searle's original works tend to go for anywhere from $800 to $1500 generally being more popular in Britain. I am unable to tell if the item is authentic from pictures nor am I able to find the exact "title" for the painting. I would suggest getting it authenticated.

If I was any help, I'd greatly appreciate an accepted comment! Thanks!

Re: watercolor painting

Thank you for your reply. I have been searching for info on this painting for over a year. I have found the same info as you. I live on west coast and cannot seem to find an art appraiser here. I know nothing about art but there was just something about this painting and I had to get it.
