I'm wondering if this is classified as a wood burner, coal burner, apartment heater, etc. and would like to know its worth. I'm guessing it's from the 1950s or1960s. When the lid is lifted there's a compartment for burning (21" deep) and has two front vents plus a door on the botttom front for cleaning out residue. It has a vent pipe out the back going into the chimney with a handle to control air flow. Overall size is 38"H x 29"W x 34"D
Unable to locate model or serial number on it.

There is clearly a handle, what is inside when you lift the top? What is it that is in the farther right corner (looks like a switch, but angle of the photo doesn't help)?
What are the two long vertical pieces in front? One appears to be slightly open at the bottom corner, making me think that they can be opened as well.
And the bottom is perhaps a drawer of some kind? The more info you learn, the more can be given.

You are welcome. Judging from the new info, it would be a wood or coal burner. Though I'm leaning more toward coal, since for wood it would need to go in the front rather than the top. And the safety issue of flames coming up out of the hole would indicate it to be a coal burner. Since the coals would not have to be in flames, but merely very hot.
