I purchased an antique cedar chest. The name on the inside is Red Cedar, E R & Company, Forest Park, Il

Looks like brass hinges and lock as well as decorative brass on each corner.

I purchased this from an Antique Mall recently. Would like to know something about it before I decide whether or not to refinish.  Company name was changed in 1918 is why I think it is pre 1019.  Any information wil be appreciated. Thanks
