french crystal sculpture

Description

My father bought this when he was stationed in France during the Korean war. bought it at some small shop. I would like to know if anyone has any information on this. some people think it looks like a flame others think it looks like the Madona. any information would be great.

What is the writing inscribed on the side? Have you shown the full Image? Or is there a letter, which precedes the small "s" at the beginning?

the full image is shown, there is no lettr prceding the "s". thanks for any help you can give.
