Old glass bowl, unusual composition/color

Carnival glass. There are a few different types. Their cool to look at and pretty valuable from what I've seen. I believe it is also around the depression glass era. 

originally produced by Fenton art glass (USA) in 1908 as competition to the expensive Tiffany glass. It did not sell as well as expected and was discounted. Fairground owners began to buy it up to use as prizes (hence the name). See:

this is not Fenton, nor was it fenton owned. the symbol you have described means it is Northwood.

I guess that I should have said that 'carnival glass was originally produced....etc
