Re: Painting by Gregg
I have the same painting just a little different than both Gregg paintings of this scene on instappraisal. The signature spells Gregg but doesn't look like the same artist signed it.
"... rights reserved" is visable on the back.
have you found any information about this painting or artist?
Re: Painting by Gregg
Paintings like this tend to date from the last quarter of the 20th century, most were sold as decorator pieces at travelling "Starving Artist" clearance sales held in Hotel conference centers. These were painted in multiples of the same scene by unknown Artits under contract to Art Wholesalers. If they are signed the signatures are usually psuedonyms and not the Artists real name. Values for them tend to be modest in the current market, most go at auction for less than $200.00
Re: Painting by Gregg
I don't have any info about the artist but I purchased one of his large paintings at Salvation Army thrift store last fall. It is a fall landscape with greenhills and yellow sky and bare trees in the foreground. same kind of style as your painting. The signature "GREGG" is a match for writing style. Looks to be from the 1970s. Mine is framed in a thin black floating frame. Where abouts are you? I'm in Eastern Ontario.
