Junior Cobb Wood Carving - Tree Spirit

Profile picture for user cwjantiquities

Description

This is a wood carving done by the famous wood carver Junior Cobb who lived in Arkansas and died in 2011. I'm hoping somone else can tell me more about this item, the artist and value. I was excited to see that he incribed his full name into the bottom of this piece as I found out through my research that many times he only inscribed JRC and the fact that he was completely illiterate other than being able to recognize his own name made this wood carving even more interesting to me. I am hoping somone can tell me more about it and if it is worth any money.

Thanks!

Re: Junior Cobb Wood Carving - Tree Spirit

Does anyone know anything about what this piece might be worth?

I have marked that it's not for sale but honestly I would be willing to sell it if I knew it did hold some value... otherwise I really do like it and would probably keep it forever :)

Thanks!

Re: Junior Cobb Wood Carving - Tree Spirit

Hi, C-

Junior Cobb was a neighbor, and I would be interested in buying this carving from you. I have  no idea the value of the piece; what might you take for it?
