By brandandi, 3 November, 2014
Description

Baby crib has all rods and seems to be made out of some type of iron . Laddis in middle is also iron and all rods to assemble are made from possibly nickel or some type of steel. I was going to use seperate peices to turn into wall art am interested in finding out any thing I can about this beauty :) was informed by a friend I may be better off keeping it in tact :/ reguardless of what I decide to do with it I would love to know where this treasure origanally came from :) I believe it may have been all metal oval angel looks brass seems to have been painted at least once long ago as well :) cant fing any inprinted numbers or letters and wholes and end of rods do not appear to be "factory perfect cut" thanks for any info I have searched and searched to no avail :)

Re: antique iron baby crib with oval iron baby angel

I have a similar crib. It is just a bit more upscale. I do not see a place to post a picture here. My Mother used it for six kids starting in 1947. I am not sure if it was her crib also. I had it sansblasted and powder coated for $80 and it looked brand new. I used it for two kids and it has yellowed after being stored for 25 years with a few scratches. I am selling it in a moving sale this weekend and hope to get $125 with the matress. The bars on the headboard are spaced too wide for today's safety requiremets.
