Description

Hello! I'm currently in the middle of refinishing a cedar chest. Its been in my family for a long time, and unfortunatley has been painted over many times. That is why I am refinishing it-to bring back the natural wood look that it longs to display. I have no interst in selling it, I just want information. I already know about the Ed Roos Manufacturing company, but I know nothing of my cedar chest. It has there stamp inside it and on the bottom. I cant find a picture of the chest anywhere on the internet so I have nothing to base the time period on. I just want to know what year this chest was distributed? Any other information would be great as well! Thank you so much!

Could you provide an image of the stamp or what it actually says? If it is a an Ed Roos piece, it dates from the second quarter of the 20th century and would not have a great deal of value, even examples in very good original condition often sell for under $200.00.

Unlike the Lane chests which have serial numbers to date them, there is no such system for the Roos chests, based on the design of this one it most likely dates from the mid 1920's to early 1930's.
