It certainly looks like a Nippon Vase. They stopped putting the backstamp on items about 1920 due to export law that made them stop using the Nippon Name and using "Japan" instead. Silly because Nippon means Japan. They are usually valued at between $100 to $300. You can get a Nippon book which contains the pictures of all Nippon produced items

I am not sure but I believe the letters are RC and the numbers are 38?> The question mark mean I can define that number. I am researching just the RC part of the description.
