I could be wrong, however, I vaguely recall seeing dolls like this, encased together, representative of different era's and status of the era. Yet, there are also some of these dolls being created presently, and being sold from online/store out of Japan.. The older dolls that have been out there since ww2, Thinking they could be Ryukyu doll or Hinamatsuri Dolls.. yet, I am no expert.. you would have to have that confirmed.
These dolls have been made in very large numbers for the Export market since the 1920's and are still in production. They appeaer on regular basis on Ebay and other auction sites, often selling for less than $150.00.
