Victorian loveseat Settee

Description

Hi. I bought this brown velvet loveseat, couch at a thrift store and was wondering if it was Victorian. IF so how old and what kind of wood? Is it hand carved?

Please let me know if you have any idea. I'd really like to learn more about this piece.

Thanks! :)

Cherrywood, been refinished, otherwise in excellent condition.  Original springs and frame work.  solid

It's not Victorian, but is designed to resemble genuine Victorian Rococo. Most like this tend to date from the 1920's at the earliest, the carving is all machine made. There is not much demand for furniture of this type in the current market, at auction a comparable piece would sell for about what you paid for it.
